Facet Joint injections in Miami, FL
Advanced Neuro and Spine Institute is one of South Florida’s leading pain management treatment centers, designed to help patients effectively manage painful neurologic and spine-related conditions via facet joint injections. The neurologists and pain management specialists at our Aventura, Kendall, Hialeah, and Fort Lauderdale offices deliver expert, personalized care in a welcoming environment.
Spinal arthritis and facet joint syndrome can cause severe pain that interferes with your quality of life. Facet joints are located between each disc in your spine and are crucial to maintaining flexibility and stability. Irritation to the facet joints causes patients extreme pain, and multiple facet joints can be affected, causing a condition known as “facet joint syndrome.”
When Are Facet Joint Injections Recommended?
Our doctors recommend facet joint injections to patients suffering from spine-related arthritis and weakness.
How Are Facet Joint Injections Administered?
Local anesthesia is provided to help you remain comfortable during the procedure. Using an x-ray of your spine, your doctor targets the affected area of your spine with small doses of the injection. The procedure takes up to 30 minutes, and your doctor may recommend a radiofrequency neurotomy treatment after your injections to prolong the results. If a radiofrequency neurotomy treatment is required it could extend the length of your procedure by 15-30minutes. Facet joint injections are limited to three injections in a six-month period. Most patients need one or two injections for long-lasting results.
What Are the Benefits of Facet Joint Injections at Advanced Neuro and Spine Institute?
Facet joint injections provide quick, effective, long-term relief to symptoms associated with spinal arthritis and facet joint syndrome. Facet joint injections contain a local anesthetic and anti-inflammatory medication to treat the inflammation that causes your discomfort. Facet joint injections can also be used as diagnostic tools to determine the source of your pain.
